September is National Literacy Month. Literacy is celebrated both in and out of the classroom. The school’s free family library was created by a former Community Liaison with the goal of helping families grow their own home libraries.
The library also comes alive through events that connect students and families in meaningful ways. Pueblo Gardens has celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday, honored its Welcoming Schools Award, and transformed the library into a mini theater for Love of Reading Week. During the holidays, families gather to enjoy festive stories and even a special visit from Santa.
As a small school, Pueblo Gardens uses these special activities to spark joy, build excitement for reading, and strengthen family engagement—an essential part of student success.
